There's nothing quite like the joy of rediscovering music that had slipped into the oblivion of an over large collection of music.![]()
Today I stumbled upon The Sundays again after, no word of a lie, 15 years! Reading, Writing and Arithmetic, which came popping into my earbuds thanks to the divine chance of 'shuffle', is a gem.
The melodies are fantastic, the lyrics Smiths-like, the voice of Harriet Wheeler urchin-angelic. Each track is a classic. Not a bad one on the album.
It's one of my favourite albums of all time. Joy indeed! Like finding a pound on the underground.

Oh my! Someone dubbed this onto a cassette for me 'back in the day.'
I must see if I've got an mp3 of Here's Where the Story Ends somewhere on my machine...
Thanks for the reminder, Alex! :)

A pleasure :) Tip me the wink if you can't find a copy.

Hi Alex. I've had my entire CD collection stolen twice over the years. I didnt bother attempting to replace it each time - with the exception of literally just a few of albums. 'Reading Writing and Arithmetic' was one of them. As you say, top tunes every one. :)
Warmest
Claire
